In September 2019 the team led by Roberto won the Microsoft Hackathon 2019 Grand Prize, beating 7.000 projects worldwide and 27.000 engineers, with the “MirrorHR - Epilepsy Research Kit for Kids” project. As follow-up, starting in April 1st, 2020, he officially joined the Microsoft’s Garage as intrapreneur in order to move forward the project and, hopefully, help millions of kids and families who suffer from epilepsy.

He’s also the co-founder, with his wife Francesca, of FightTheStroke Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports young stroke survivors with a disability of cerebral palsy, like his son, and their families strongly believing that the best way to help their son is to help every child like him. Most important of all the above, Roberto is the father of Mario, now 9,5 years old, and his mantra is “consider what you have as a gift and what you miss just as an opportunity”
